Alex is growing on! It is hard to believe 2 months have gone by so fast. I want to savour every moment of his littleness, but life happens. It is just going by too quickly. Alex is an amazing baby. He smiles so--- much. We are so filled with joy at his presence in our home. He captivates all of us. Since he was put on his Prevacid last month, he is delightful almost all of the time. He is still a baby, but other than when he is hungry, tired, or in need of a diaper change, he is happy. We could not be more blessed. Alex sleeps very well at night and knows 9:30 is bedtime. Even if he is not asleep, you can lay him in his bed and he will go to sleep. Alex does not like to be laid down during the day for naps, but I do not mind holding him while he is still little. I will gradually transition him to his crib for naps as soon as his room is ready.
This month Alex weighed 12lbs 7oz and measured 23 1/2" long. He really did not grow a ton, but his pedi and I think it is because Alex got thrush again from me having strep and being put on antibiotics. He really was not nursing very well at all during that time. Also, it seemed like the antibiotics made his refulx worse. He had several episodes of big spit-ups. He might be going through a growth spurt now though because he wants to nurse very often. We'll see what month 3 has in store. For now, we are enjoying his happiness and smiles. We are awaiting the day for him to laugh. Sam says his smiles are so big he looks as though he is laughing, but no sound is coming out. Not yet! Maybe soon.
